They started with good intentions of posting regular articles and then obstacles got in the way. Common excuses can be because there are other more important things to do. Busy schedules and heavy workloads, writers block and just quite simply; forgetting about it.
How often should you blog?
If you want your website to be successful then you need to set up a business blog and use it. You need to add new content to your site and you need to do it often. Once a week is what you should aim for. More than once a week is better and every day is fantastic. It is not as easy as it sounds though and to effectively organise yourself its best to plan ahead.
The best way to manage your posting activity is to create a schedule and stick to it. I know it’s easier said than done, but so many businesses and individuals talk about starting a blog and never get around to it. Or they get set up and then forget! The bottom line is; if you frequently add new content to your website you will see an increase in your search rankings. The Google spiders are always out there searching the web for new content, and they will favour your site more if it’s kept fresh and alive with new relevant content.

Create a schedule for adding new content. Set up a spreadsheet on Excel with columns called; date, subject, image, keywords. Put some time aside and complete your schedule. Think about what you want to blog about and plan ahead. This schedule is the backbone of your blog and the key to running a successful blog. Once you get into the habit you are on your way to being a successful blogger. If you don’t have time to write articles because of your busy schedule then why not think about hiring a writer to do it for you.
